イランイランの香りのするアロマオイルを

使ったことがあるのではないでしょうか。

西インド諸島・南米

1753年にリンネによって命名されました。

「Annona」は、

アメリカ先住民タイノ語で近縁種のチェリモヤ

（Annona cherimola）の俗称をラテン語化したものです。

「muricata」は「ムレックスのような形」を意味し、

アリストテレスが紫色の染料の原料として用いた

棘のある海洋軟体生物に付けた名前です。

リンネが種の説明で「pomis muricatus」と書いたのは、

果実に棘があるものの、柔らかいという意味です。
