　岩瀬は神通川河口右岸の港町。雨の屋根瓦が美しい。


　岩瀬は，1945年7月20日に爆撃を受けたが，8月1日の富山大空襲では難を逃れた。

　米軍は，逃げ場を絶つようにはじめに富山市中心部の外側に焼夷弾を落とし，仕上げに二時間にわたって爆弾と焼夷弾を投下した。
　市街地の99.5%を焼失し、広島、長崎への原子爆弾投下を除く地方都市への空襲としては最も被害が大きかった。
