分解したのが下の画像で，噛み砕いたクリの実多数，柿の実の種が数ケ，そして銀杏の実が10粒ほど。それは割れてもおらず，果肉だけを味わったようです。

パキッパキッと枝を折る音の源を探していると，強烈な獣臭がする場所があって，見上げると木のてっぺんが，ゆっさゆっさしています。
画像は，幹が一抱えほどのミズナラの樹冠部で，隣の木の枝をたぐり，口を寄せてドングリを喰っている母熊。すぐ近くの木に子熊が上っています。(12:40)
本種は，アフガン,イラン南東部を西限とし，支那，シベリア，また，インドシナから台湾を経て，東限の本州，四国まで分布しています。

タイトルのwhistling in the darとは慣用句で，〈whistling in the dark : （こわさをごまかすため）暗闇で口笛を吹く；危機に臨んで平静を装う。；あてずっぽうを言う。〉などとあり，映画の内容からすると２番目の意味を当てているのかもしれません。
