Danny Hutton really needs to write a book.

Hutton, a founding member of Three Dog Night still touring with the band at age 76, has a wealth of stories about his rock 'n' roll life in Los Angeles starting in the early '60s, when he scored some semi-hits as a solo vocalist, toured with Sonny & Cher and worked in A&R for several record labels.

Brian Wilson, Stephen Stills, Frank Zappa and Joni Mitchell all popped up over the course of our recent freewheeling telephone conversation.
